The GT Academy 2010 Time Trial is now available for free download from the Playstation store.
The race is on to find the best racers of the year. Following the trail blazed by last year’s inaugural GT Academy, GT fans and newcomers alike are invited to test their skills against the rest in the playable single track Time Trial, racing the Nissan 370Z around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course .
Those with the best combined times will be invited to take part in a Europe-wide competition which will see the best racers taken to Silverstone racetrack in the UK where they’ll get behind the wheel of a Nissan 370Z for real as part of 2010’s GT Academy.
By the looks of things, the fastest time so far has been taken by an Australian. GTP-DHolland is the guy to beat with a combined time of 3’24.239.
This is a fantastic challenge for the smaller countries. The top 20 drivers from each country will race in a nationl final. From there, the winners will be taken to Silverstone, where they’ll get behind the wheel of a Nissan 370Z for real as part of 2010’s GT Academy. If you’re a decent driver from a country like New Zealand with a total population of just 4 million, you actually have a reasonable chance of competing in your country’s finals.
So download the time trial (it’s under 300MB) and get racing! And keep an eye on the GT Academy 2010 rankings – just select your country from the drop down box.
